Apple Maps – on iPhone, iPad, and Mac
3 Options:
Map – similar to a paper map – primarily shows streets; some areas are colored to indicate the type of area (ex. parks, hospitals, schools)
Transit – primarily shows rail lines – trains and subways; including Amtrack, commuter railroads, and subway systems – may also show bus routes; streets are still displayed, faded in the background
Satellite – primarily shows what you would see when flying over an area – actual photos of areas, so you see trees/sand/water/buildings/streets/etc.
How to See Different Views
Options are in the top right corner of the screen.
On Mac, click the view you want to easily switch between them.
On iPhone and iPad, tap the i with a circle around it. That will bring up Maps Settings, where you can tap your desired map view.
